Discover all about we hope to provide you with enough information to educate you on the safety and potential uses of CBD oil.

Is CBD Oil Safe to Use?

Is CBD oil safe to use? Before we answer that question, we need to understand how the compound works within our bodies.

Our bodies have something known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS) that runs through our central nervous system.

The ECS is mainly responsible for regulating a variety of our physiological and cognitive processes. Some of these include things like our appetites, moods, sleep schedules and more.

Recently, researchers found that CBD sends signals to the ECS through our natural channels. Essentially, CBD functions in a way that communicates with our body to tell it to basically produce and utilize its own natural cannabinoids more efficiently.

This is an all natural way to give our bodies the love and care it needs, giving an answer to the question, is CBD oil safe to use?

Believe it or not, CBD oil works in our bodies pretty similarly to how dietary supplements do. Our bodies actually produce its own endocannabinoids that are essential for homeostasis.

So, is CBD oil safe to use for my body? You bet! It’s not only safe, but your body also is naturally prepared for it!

Is CBD Safe for Pets?

Research into the veterinary cannabis industry is in progress. Since the laws regarding the use of cannabis in both people and animals have been lagging, there are not enough scientifically proven studies yet showing the effects of CBD on pets.

If there isn’t any law about giving my pet CBD, is CBD safe to use for my pet? There is some promising research out there regarding CBD for pets.

For instance, a 2018 study published by the Frontiers in Veterinary Science showed that CBD oil may be effective in treating dogs with osteoarthritis. Specifically, dogs given CBD in the clinical trial were more comfortable and active.

Even more important, the study also found that there were no observed side effects of CBD in the dogs treated.

Another study in the American Journal of Veterinary Research indicates that cannabinoids might be able to protect against immune-mediated effects as well as fight the symptoms of inflammatory allergy complications in dogs.

Additionally, another study found that CBD produces anticonvulsant and anti-epileptic effects in dogs.

Specifically, according to a report by the World Health Organization in 2017, CBD does seem to be safe and well-tolerated by animals. While this seems sufficient enough, we still like to recommend to all consumers to consult with a healthcare provider before adding a new nutritional supplement to their diets, and especially to consult with your veterinarian before considering giving your pet CBD.

More studies with larger sample populations are necessary in order to identify specific effects of CBD oil for treating medical ailments in pets.

But, with all this in mind, it’s important to remember that more and more research is underway and that some preliminary research is available in understanding more about CBD. We’re hoping to see a big study that can concretely answer – is CBD oil safe to use for pets?

What is the Best CBD Dose for Me?

Is CBD oil safe to use, and how does that relate to dosing? Great question! One of the first things people ask when they buy a CBD oil product is how much they should take.

The truth is, there is no one perfect serving that will work across the board. Because CBD products are sold as dietary supplements, we provide recommendations for serving sizes on all package labels.

However, because every individual is unique and responds differently to different supplements, the amount of CBD you consume is ultimately up to you.

Especially since the FDA hasn’t set any standard nutritional guidelines for CBD oil products.

Our motto? Start low and grow.

Introduce your body to a dose a day of CBD, and increase when your body is telling you to. Sometimes it can take time to find that dosing sweet spot, so be patient!

Is CBD Safe and Legal?

There is CBD considered safe and legal in the United States! There are over hundreds of identified cannabinoids that exist inside cannabis sativa plants. The two most studied though are CBD and THC.

Contrary to THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, CBD is non-intoxicating. This means that when people consume or ingest CBD, they do not feel any mind-altering effects. On the other hand, though, when people inhale a certain amount of THC, they start to feel intoxicating effects.

While THC is most abundant in marijuana, there is a greater concentration of CBD in hemp.

Hemp also contains only small levels of THC.

This means that CBD derived from hemp plants is a safe source of cannabinoids for everyone.

And, if that weren’t enough, CBD products are safe and legal only if they contain less than 0.3% THC by concentration. Hemp derived CBD oil is deemed federally legal!

How Can CBD Help my Wellness?

Is CBD oil safe to use for myself for daily wellness? Yes! But is CBD oil safe to use when I have a pre existing medical condition? Is CBD oil safe to use if I’m on medication?

We recommend speaking with a physician if you currently struggle with a chronic condition and/or take medication.

And due to the federal restrictions on cannabis, there isn’t enough scientific evidence to support some medical claims. How is CBD oil safe to use, then, without this information?

There is some hope!

For instance, when scientists discovered that CBD oil significantly improved the lives and symptoms of those living with and suffering from two very rare and unique forms of childhood epilepsy, the FDA approved the first pharmaceutical drug containing CBD.

Hopefully this is just one step toward the future of CBD and all of its potential benefits. That said, though, we always like to remind and encourage our consumers to investigate themselves.

With how much anecdotal evidence is out there, it’s hard not to believe CBD really works. It’s even harder to know the answer to is CBD oil safe to use if you don’t do this research.
