In March of 2019, it was announced that the lifestyle enthusiast would join the CBD industry by crafting a brand new line of Martha Stewart CBD products with Canopy Growth. However, much of this new interest in CBD products has been credited to the admirable friendship between her and Snoop Dogg.
While the bond may seem like an unlikely friendship, Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg have become an iconic duo. Similar to Jennifer Anniston and Courtney Cox, the television host and the 47-year-old rapper share an epic celebrity friendship as well.
Their best friendship first began in 2008 when Martha invited Snoop onto The Martha Stewart Show. After igniting many laughs during the segment, it was no more than a year later she invited him back to her show.
Since then, this legendary pair has drawn in much attention from fans as well as other TV show hosts, both only ever having positive things to say about one another.
"I like his laid-back energy," Stewart said on the Today Show last year. "I like his outspokenness. I like his sense of timing."
Snoop Dogg has mentioned numerous times that the feeling is mutual.
After they both sat next to each other during Comedy Central's roast of Justin Bieber, Snoop told NBC's Smith, "She was the funniest roaster that night. In that moment, I knew I wanted to be alongside this lady for the rest of my life."
It wasn't until 2016 when their friendship expanded to co-hosts of a weekly half-hour cooking show on VH1: Martha and Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party. According to the Hollywood Reporter, television producer SallyAnn Salsano noticed the chemistry between the two and pitched them the idea for the show.
After three years of being on-air, the show has earned a 100 percent rating on rotten tomatoes and a 2017 Emmy nomination.
Interestingly enough, one thing has become very clear. Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg not only share an incredible friendship and tv persona with each other, they also inspire one another in the business world.
Since he has worked so closely with one of the most celebrated food connoisseurs in the world, Snoop Dogg released his first-ever cookbook, From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg's Kitchen. The book was released in 2018 with a forward written by Stewart.
How Did Martha Stewart Get Involved with CBD?
Now, after many years of an unconditional friendship and a unique business relationship, Martha Stewart has joined the CBD industry. Surprisingly, though, Snoop Dogg is not her business partner.
Instead of creating the new Martha Stewart CBD brand with her variety show co-host, Stewart has taken on an advisory role at Canopy Growth, a renowned Canadian CBD company.
Even though Martha Stewart is not working with her close friend, Snoop Dogg has had a notable partnership with Canopy Growth for over 5 years and helped setup this business relationship between Stewart and the CBD company.
Martha has chosen to play a significant role in developing and positioning the new line of CBD products as well as branding and design.
According to a press release announcing the partnership last year, the collaboration between Martha and Canopy Growth will be "exploring the effectiveness of CBD and other cannabinoids as they relate to improving the lives of both humans and animals."
